Illustration process
I wanted to create an unexpected image that fueled the interaction with the copy and provided a source of inspiration that would seamlessly connect all the content through the metaphor of this wild and lively place. It is strange enough to grab your attention and very relatable on some kind of level. I did not want to create anything obvious but find a solution that a brand narrative could form out of. I built the image around the ideas of the humorous, dramatic, and exaggerated chaos our homes turned into since the start of 2020. Although humans make the call, ultimately homes are what they serve, and every home has a wild and unique personality of its own.
The illustration process is a mix of digital and traditional methods—starting with tabloid copy paper and a pencil, then traced with a black color pencil and scanned to add colors, textures, and effects with Adobe Photoshop.
